Waimarino Golf

Sunday saw the annual Town versus Country clash. Despite the weather some good golf was played with main matches closely contested. Town came out winners 14-7. There was absolutely no truth in the rumours that those townies who had to play in the country team threw their matches, we'll have you back next year guys. On the individual front some very good scores shot by Andrew Whooley and John Purcell on 43 points each. Good games also by Deevon Gray 41 pts, Trevor Fredrick sen-

ior 39pts and Gordon Pepere 34pts. In the seniors, a welcome back to form for Andrew Condon on 42 pts followed by Pat Goldfinch 38 pts, Trevor Fredrick junior 36 pts and Mike Lloyd 36 pts. Pennant team to play Taihape on Sunday 1 9 June is Wayne Marsh, Trevor Fredwick jr, Gary Imhoff, Barry Drinkwater, Neil Black and Andrew Condon.
