Interest in Railway houses high

A large number of tenders were received for eight Ohakune railway houses offered last month. Tenders closed last week and Harcourts Real Estate agent Rodger Bransgrove said all the properties were likely to be sold for removal.

He said Railways had decided to sell the buildings for removal because they were unable to sell them freehold until the Waitangi Tribunal claim on the land was settled. Six are in Railway Row and two are in Ruapehu Road.
