Waiouru RSA

On Sunday 22 May, members from Waiouru RSA travelled to Turangi 180 Darts Club for an Inter-club Challenge. The games played were doubles,. pool, darts and singles. Due to time commitments some singles pool games had to be decided with the toss of a coin. Results: Doubles pool - 180 = 3, Waiouru = 4; Doubles darts - 180 = 4, Waiouru = 3; Singles pool - Draw, 7 each; Singles Darts - 180 = 8, Waiouru = 6. A new shield for this challenge was donated by Brian Davis from Waiouru. Thanks on behalf of all members were expressed. Results for club night 24 May: Winners were Popey & Brian with 1 1/12; runners-up were Bud & Garth tied with Steve & Duffy. Highest start went to Brian with 142; highest finish went to Popey with 80; highest score went to Garth with 140. The wooden spoon went to Sue with three from three darts. On Saturday 28 May the club had another local competition being hosted by Waimarino Darts Club. On Queens Birthday weekend four members are going to Tauranga for the NZ RSA National Darts Tournament. They are: Brian Cavis, Bud Abbot, Bruce Cunningham, Grant Pope (Popey). These members are representing Waiouru FSA and are expected to leave a lasting impression on all other clubs attending.
