Information sponsorship confirmed for 1994/95

ECNZ has confirmed its sponsorship to the value of $70,000 to the Ruapehu District Council's marketing division for the 1994/95 financial year. The two parties entered into a three year sponsorship agreement in 1993 with the annual contributions being determined at the beginning of the year. ECNZ's Tokaanu group manager

Dennis Allen said that he was very satisfied with the progress achieved in the first year of the agreement. The council's marketing department has undertaken a number of initiatives that are of benefit to both ECNZ and the district's marketing efforts in general. The council's Chief Executive Cliff Houston said that ECNZ's contribution to district marketing is invaluable and that the significant progress achieved in developing campaigns promoting the area could be attributed to this successful partnership. ECNZ's funding support of the Visitor Centres in Taumarunui and Ohakune is also resulting in a highly professional approach and greater coordination of district marketing, said Mr Houston.
