Robbie Campbell takes a break from working in the new Tainui Street stormwater system manhole recently. The new system, being installed by Ruapehu Construction Limited, is designed to pick up the overflow from the Ruapehu College sports fields and storm water from the houses on the west side of the street. Stage one of the project will extend to near the college changing rooms with stage two extending almost to Shannon Street. Stage two is currently being considered as part of the council's annual plan. Following the drainage work it is hoped to put in footpaths.
