Riders object to story
President of the Karioi Endurance Club, Bert Jordan, has objected to a story in last week's Bulletin (10 May, page three). He said last week that the club is in recess; that the meeting held by other club members was not an annual general meeting; that the club' s books were not in his possession as claimed by club secretary Rosaleen Morris; and that the claim that he would not attend was wrong, that he was unable to attend because of work commitments. Mrs Morris has also stated that the story was incorrect. She said the group had not claimed to have held an
annual general meeting. They had hoped to hold an AGM but because the books were not available had instead held a "discussion meeting" to consider ways to revive the club. The Bulletin now understands that the group represented by Mrs Morris is hoping to bring the club out of recess. Editor's note: The Bulletin apologises to Mrs Morris for any embarrassment caused by the error regarding the AGM. We would further point out that no inference should be made by readers of any wrong-doing by Mr Jordan with regard to the club's affairs from the Bulletin's news stories.
