OnTuesday 19 April the top players from Ohakune travelled to T aihape to compete for the Challenge Rosebowl. Taihape gained

the upper hand early and it wasn't until the fourth and final round that Ohakune was able to turn the game around and successfully retain the trophy. It may have been the late night in T aihape, the change of seasons, the change of life or a change of partners but there seemed to be a lot of yawning and a lack of concentration on Wednesday night. One person determined to stav alert was Heather

Cranston and, along with partner Dave Taylor, they raced away to win with 64.82%. John Eades and Elaine Goldfinch combined well to score 58.55% in second place and not too far behind in third place on 55.17% were Ron Martin and Sarah Hamlin. Fourth place went to Brian Eades and Margaret Cornwall on 52.97% and less than 1%

behind in fifth place were Glenda Whale and Bob Tumataroa. The only other team to score above 50% were Betty Hammond and George Drayton on 50.45%.
