A civic function is to be held at Ruapehu College this Thursday at Ilam to welcome back home double Gold Medal winner in this year's Winter skiing Paralympics, Patrick Cooper of Ohakune. This was announced at last vyeek's Ruapehu District Council meeting at which Mayor Garrick Workman said that Patrick thoroughly deserved his medals and this civic function would provide

the ldcal community with an opportunity to show their appreciation of his achievements. Cr Ellen Gould said that, as someone who had attended five-year-old Patrick at the accident site which caused his injury , she was full of respect and admiration for Patrick. "He has achieved these results by doing it all himself through hard work, determination and dedication", she said.
