Books boom in Waiouru

By Michele Monaghan Waiouru Primary School held its first book week for the year during the week 11-15 April. The amount of money returned to the school depends on how many books are sold. Organiser, Shonagh MacGibbon, said that when over $1000 worth of books are sold, 40 per cent goes back to the school library. Half way through book week the $1000 mark had been reached. :

"We' re doing really well," said Mrs MacGibbon, "and we still have late night Thursday to go." A second book week is planned for November and 50 per cent of saies will go back to the school, regardless of the amount of books sold. Proceeds are shared between the two libraries depending on how much the junior department and the senior department raises. "It' s normally about 50/50," said Mrs , MacGibbon.
