Juniors show stye at Hastings hui

Maungarongo Marae 's junior concert party team perform a dress rehearsal for a large crowd of invited guests at the marae last week, in preparation for the annual Easter "Hui Aranga", this year held in Hastings. The team competed on the weekend for the Kurahaupo Ruka Shield, as part of the long weekend of competitions which included cultural performances, oratory and song as well as sports of all kinds. Mathew Mareikura , Hui Aranga president, said participants would be very tired at the end of the hui, which meant they had participated well. "If you are fresh on the Monday, you haven't participated," he said.
