Turoa Golf

Early moming rain saw a smaller than usual field compete in the 27 Hole Turoa Tournament on Saturday 26 March. Special thanks to Silver Burling for preparing the Turoa Alpine Village Course for play and organising sponsorship from Turoa Ski Resort suppliers. The winners were: Men' s 27 hole gross: Wayne Marsh on 1 10; nett: Bryce

Henry ; nett runner-up: Glen Wallace; 2nd nett runnerup: John Hammond. Mens 9 hole gross: Terry Geraghty on 30 (flat with the card). Mens 18holestableford: Con Heinold. Ladies 27 hole nett: Goldy Fraser; nett runnerup: Heather Cranston. Ladies 18 hole stableford: Nancy Winter. Trophies and cups were presented and sponsored by

Noel Byford of Taihape, who avails his time to come up and participate in this event. Taihape Golf Club captain Alan Thomas had his maiden run in the tournament but unfortunately couldn't handle the conditions. Hopefully we will see him back next year. Excellent golfing conditions provided equally good scores on Sunday 27 March. Results (seniors): D. Herewini 6+; G. Fountain 4+; N. Black 4+; G. Imhoff 4+; M. Lloyd 4+.

Juniors: G. Wallace 6+; R. Spry 5+; T. Frederick Snr 3+; G. Lind 1 +; G. Ennis 1+; Andrew Murdie 1+. Ladies: M. Fountain 6+; L. Drinkwater 3-.
