Ohakune indentity sworn in as JP

New Justice of the Peace Graham Dixon is congratulated by Judge Patrick Toomey at his swearing in at Ohakune recently. The ceremony was witnessed by representatives ofthe Te Ihingarangi Marae at Waimiha. Mr Dixon' s name was put forward by Piripi Rite, marae chairman. He formed Dixon Engineering 20 years ago and Dixon Logging and Contracting two years ago. Mr Dixon retired from the Ohakune Volunteer Fire Brigade in 1985 after 19 years' service,

he served as an Ohakune Borough councillor for nine years, is a trustee of the Te Ihingarangi Marae committee, and he has the Queen's Service Medal for services to the fire brigade.
