Golf season underway

The golf season officially opened two weeks ago with a champagne brunch. Numbers have improved for the official season, after a successful twilight season of golf. Some of the new members show promise as can be seen in the scores they are shooting. In the senior men, G. Imhoff and K. McDougall tied for first place, with 39 points. M. Lloyd and W. Marsh were tied for second place, with 38 points. Andrew Murdie took out the junior men's section, finishing on 46. He was followed by C. Allerby on 42 and S. Gray on 41. In the ladies', E. Rush was first on 43, with L. Drinkwater second on 36. This weekend sees the Turoa 27 Hole Tournament begin at Turoa Village, with players starting on nine holes, followed by another 18 at the Waimarino course. Start time is set for 9am. The President Trophy Team redeemed their eight nil loss against Hokiwhitu last Sunday to beat Belmont this week.
