Waiouru Mountain Lefties
Brilliant weather and great mountain views greeted 44 left-handers and a large number of righties also for the W aiouru Mountain Lefties toumament held on 12 February. This number included 1 1 lady lefties who entered the tournament - a great increase on previous years. Keith Dallas, national president and three councillors - Fraser Petty (Northland, Auckland), Nigel Messenger (Wellington) and Geoff Ingram (Manawatu, Wanganui) were also present. Much of the day' s acti vities were organised by the Waiouru Club's righthanded golfers and this was appreciated by the visitors as was the excellent conditions of the course. Results were: Ladies - Gross 1st June Williams, 2nd Elaine Burchmore, 3rd Margaret Ramsden; Nett 1 st June McKinnon, 2nd Liz Haeata, 3rd Audrey Messinger; Stableford 1st Chris Hema, 2nd Margaret Dalein, 3rd Bev Sim; Long Drive 1 st Chris Hema, 2nd Elaine Burchmore. Men, Div 1 , 0-1 5 - Gross 1 st Geoff Ingram, 2nd Neil Sim, 3rd Trevor Frederick; Nett 1st Bob Couch, 2nd Bruce Poole, 3rd Alex Walters;' Stableford ist Richard Coleman, 2nd Bill Fort, 3rd Graeme Rose; Long Drive 1st Stan Brickland, 2ndGraeme Rose.
