Twenty-seven youngsters aged 6-8 years are currently enrolled, with a waiting list that is steadily growing, according to leader Karena Godfrey. held at the Ruapehu Scout Hall in Lee Street, Ohakune, from 3.30-4.30pm. Last week the youngsters were visited by representatives of the Ohakune Volunteer Fire Brigade and instructed upon the emergency 1 1 1 procedure in the instance of a fire in the home. The group heard how to plan an escape route from a burning building and the importance of having a meeting place planned in the event of a fire.
