Local youngsters fly by sack in the novelty races at the weekend's Karioi Sports day. Spectators at the annual event enjoyed clear skies and plenty of sun, as well as a day's entertainment by way of equestrian eventing. Running races and a lolly scramble were the highlights for the hoardes of children who participated, while adults seemed content to be sociable and make the most of the sunshine at the family event.
