POLICE FILE
• A garage at a Miro Street residence was broken into and burgled sometime between 16-19 February. Taken was a brown corduroy three-piece lounge suite, consisting of one three-seater couch and two chairs. • On the evening of Saturday 26 February the workshops of Ruapehu College were burgled. Two youths were apprehended by persons present at the College. All property was recovered and the youths dealt with under the Police diversion scheme. • Overnight Monday 21 February a brown wooden desk with three drawers on the right-hand side was taken from the back of the IWI FM offices in Clyde Street. • Police attended a motor vehicle accident on Raukawa Falls comer at around 3am on Saturday 26 February. The accident involved a single vehicle, being a large truck and trailer unit. The driver lost control while negotiating a left-hand bend and the vehicle rolled onto its side, coming to rest at the edge of the road. Because of the size of the vehicle and the nature of the road at the site, considerable delays to traffic were caused until the scene was finally cleared at 2pm. The driver of the truck suffered moderate injuries.
