Waiouru golfer wins Classic
Born over a few beers 13 years ago, Waiouru Golf Club's Mountain Classic tournament was expected to last a couple of years, but is still going strong. The annual golf tournament was held on Waitangi weekend at Waiouru golf course, and was won by fourtime trier, Paul Creedy. Also of note was Mary Atua of Linton Camp Golf Club who scored a hole-in-one. "It's like a pilgrimage," says Peter Pitts who has played a major role in organising the mountain classic for the last seven years in a row. With a field of 124, including a waiting list, the mountain classic sti 11 has a few years to go.
