New lighting on Raetihi club's wish list
Improving Raetihi' s sporting facilities is the aim of the Raetihi Rugby Football Club, with proceeds from weekly housie nights going towards the purchase of new flood lights for the club's training grounds. However the Tuesday night fund-raiser held at the club rooms in Ward Street has failed to attract the anticipated interest and organisers say that housie nights may have to be revised if numbers do not improve. A spokesperson for the club said that three lights are on order with other improvements and renovations planned for the near future. The existing lighting at Raetihi' s training grounds is sub-standard to the point that night training is near impossible, with players barely able to see.
