Tourism minsiter to visit Ohakune & Raetihi

Roger Maxwell, Minister of Tourism, is to visit Ohakune and Raetihi tomorrow. With him will be Gary Towler of the Community Employment Grants Group who is Ohakune and Raetihi' s liaison officer for the local Mainstreet project. Mr Maxwell is here to meet the people on an early morning walk in each township. He will then present a $30,000 cheque which is to get the Mainstreet project started. The Minister will begin the Raetihi walk outside the Waimarino Museum at 8.30am, taking the opportunity to meet with everyone, then ending outside Webb's Garage and the Ruapehu Hotel. He will start his Ohakune walk from the Carrot at 10am, walking through to the retail area and finishing at the Ohakune Council Chambers for the presentation of the cheque.
