Master Gamesters to Masters
Waimarino produce has never been better represented on the national market than at this month' s New Zealand Masters Games in Dunedin, when the 'Kune Carrots' take to the netball court. The 10-strong team has been in preparation for the three day competition (1214 February) for months, with players undertaking personal fitness programmes and on-court practice. The team's itinerary includes ample time for sightseeing with a visit to Dunedin' s Cadbury factory and an overnight stay in Kaikoura listed among the highlights. Team members praised the dedication of fellow tourer Annette Schrier who is credited as being the dri ving force behind fund-rais-ing. Total funds raised are in excess of $8000. The team also made mention of the Ohakune Charitable Trust for its sponsorship of the team uniform. The remainder of the uniform - emerald green skirts, gold polo shirts and matching socks - was furnished by Buck's Drapery.
