Barbara Anderson leaves Raetihi Information Centre

The Raetihi Information Centre is losing the active involvement of one of its founder members. Mrs Barbara Anderson has retired as one of the centre's volunteers to enable her to give more time to her other activities and commitments, although she is still keeping her position as a trustee for the present time. Barbara saw a need in this community for an information centre to cater for the local community and the visitors to the area. The beautiful, clean green countryside along with the quiet relaxed atmosphere and the fishing was the image that she set out to promote. She has worked very hard to promote this concept to the businesses and the community, fund raising and arranging for a place to operate from. Over the past two and a half years her dedication and commitment has helped to get the information centre to the position that it is at today. "Those involved with the centre wished to say thank you for all you have done and extend to you the very best for the future", said a spokesperson.
