A Hazel Wallace-de-signed screen-print tablecloth, including the society monogram, a large centralmotif and decorated sidepanels, earned a round of well-deserved applause at
the November meeting of the Waimarino Art and Craft Society. Truly a work of art and a possession to treasure, this tablecloth set a high standard to lessexperienced members trying their hand at printing their own Christmas cards, said a spokesperson. The meeting expressed gratitude to Trust Bank Central for their much valued support with special thanks to local bank staff from delegates attending the Taihape award ceremony for a pleasant evening.
'Thanks also to the Ruapehu District Council and many congratulations to the MTRO railway group for their transformation of the area surrounding Ohakune Station and installation of the turn-table, - well done lads," said the spokesperson. The society rooms are near the station. The society passes on a get-well-soon message to secretary Dorothy Battersby who has suffered a broken ankle and wish all past and present members a merry Christmas and happy new year.
