Endurance club
The Karioi Endurance Club of the W aimarino area is holding its 9th calendared ride on 1 January 1994. Local members of the club attended area rides in Taupo, Manawatu and Wanganui and they did well especially for this early in the season. Cameron Morris riding Makoia, in the Junior ride of 40km, came second in 2hrs lOmins; his sister Virginiacame4th; Pearl Spring of Hunterville was 1st in lightweight. The ride on 1 January is up the Desert Road on rolling terrai n and tussock land. People interested can contact Rosalleen Morris, 06-342-855 1,RD 15, Kakatahi, Wanganui. "We are expecting people from all over the North Island for our ride. Last year
we had 68 entries, this year we are expecting well over last year's number," said Mrs Morris. "We are holding50km, 40km and 20km fun rides with junior lightweight and heavyweight."
