Waimarino police file
□ Ohakune Police are following several lines of enquiry into a spate of thefts in Miro Street, Ohakune last Thursday. The offender was disturbed siphoning petrol from a vehicle parked at 59 Miro Street by the occupant. The offender was described as a male Maori in his early 20's, 5'4" - 5'5" tall and of slight build. Two vehicles parked at 24 Miro Street and one vehicle at 45 Ayr Street were also tampered with. A brief case was removed from one vehicle. □ A green swandri and green sleeveless jacket was removed from a vehicle parked in Miro Street, Ohakune. A chainsaw that was also in the vehicle was untouched. □ Nine windows were broken at the premises of Dekker Machinery in Seddon Street, Raetihi and one window broken at Bennett's Furnishers sometime on the morning of Thursday 16 December. The initials 'J.E.' were written in blood on one window. □ At around the same time a Holden Commodore belonging to Nathan Donghi was broken into in Ward Street, Raetihi and extensively trashed. A truck belonging to Carmichael Transport was also entered and the interior trashed. No property was stolen. □ The Waimarino Vet Club in Seddon Street, Raetihi, was broken into on Saturday 18 December. Access was gained via the front door but the offenders made off when the security alarm was activated. Nothing was stolen. □ Enquiries are continuing into an alledged assault on a woman by her de facto husband. Charges are pending.
