New shop offers treasures
A Place in Time is Ohakune' s newest shop and its full of what owner Kaylene McNaught says are "treasures of the past, present and future." A visit to A Place in Time will help those looking for special gifts for special people,
or who are looking for pieces to help with their interior decorating. Among the "country collectables" are a range of heirloom Christmas decorations including hand carved wooden standing pieces. There are pieces of a contemporary flavour as well as ones that show appreciation of the old styles. Americanthrowrugs, lOOpercent cotton ; cute hand-made bird houses of a very unique style, new Polish dinner ware; and a wide variety of hand made cows of wood, canvas and iron. "There are people who collect cows," explains Kaylene. Also in store are stencilled produce trays, unique-style rag doll cows, pigs and rabbits. The shop is in Cedar Mall, Ohakune, along from Beedees where Kaylene is working to create an inviting, cosy little shop.
