Firefighters impress

• On Thursday night I had occasion to observe the Ohakune Volunteer Fire Brigade in action at a house fire in Mangawhero Terrace. I was impressed with the organisation and the dedication of men and women of the fire service in containing the house fire. I felt their efficiency in a demanding situation was well done and my admiration goes to those members who went up on the roof risking their own personal safety to stem the blaze. We are indeed very lucky to have volunteer staff of this calibre in Ohakune. Congratulations to the Fire Chief and all members of the Fire Brigade. Lynn Brannigan
