From Page 2 preservation entertained about 50 guests with a vivid description of their historic gold medal win at the world rowing championships at Rudnice in the Czech Republic earlier this year. Mr Allan said the rowers' top performance required skill, dedication, courage and a focus on quality. He described their gold medal win as one of the outstanding sporting achievements in 1993. "Their effort is certainly a fitting contribution to Women's Suffrage Year and they are perfect role models for other young New Zealand women. We are very proud to have them as part of the extended ECNZ family."
