Armistice Day
A small ceremony was held at the Waiouru Military Camp last Thursday to mark the 75th anniversary of the World War I armistice. A wreath was laid at the camp's flag-station and memorial, and a volley of shots was fired shortly before the two minutes of silence on the 11th hour. Army Training Group Commander, Col Roger Mortlock also gave a short speech in which he spoke of war being an historical fact which will never cease to end, and therefore the importance of remembering those from the past and present who in some way have been involved in war.
