Mainstreet alternative sought
The Ruapehu South Business Association is still looking for a 'catchy' name for the proposed community development project currently known as 'Mainstreet." For various reasons this present title has to be changed and replaced with a short caption or phrase that sums up the aims and objectives of the Waimarino /Raetihi /Ohakune community in promoting development and growth in this area. So far, in response to an invitation for readers of the Bulletin to submit ideas for this name change and a suitable logo design (see Ruapehu Bulletin 19
October), only one caption/slogan and three logo design sketches have been received to date. \ The caption/slogan was a good one but there may be better ones out there and while the logo designs also showed promise, once again these might be improved upon so, here again is a reminder: O The winner of the chosen short caption/slogan will be rewarded with a dinner for two at a local restauiant as well as a complimentary bottle of wine. □ A similar prize will be awarded to anyone who submits a suitable
logo which can be used in a variety of ways including stationery, newspaper adverts, flags, banners, badges, etc. In the case of the logo, only a rough Sketch of the proposed idea or design is required at this stage. Submissions should be made to the Ruapehu Visitor Centre in Clyde Street, Ohakune, no later than Wednesday 1 December.
