Highway robbery on highway one!

It's Hi-way Robbery (in name only) - the new cafe in Waiouru whicb is now part of the original Hot Bread Shop owned by Waiouru locals, John and Juanita Brausch. The expansion has been part of John and Juanita's plans since they bought the bakery four years ago, but it has only been in the last 12 months that those plans have taken shape and, despite a lengthy wait for resource consents to come through, the new cafe was opened to the publiP on Labour weekend. The local population, which has always been the mainstay of the Hot Bread Shop's clientele, is very important to the Brausch' s, said John, and they are hoping to provide a good meeting

place for the locals with the new cafe. The breadmaking will continue and now you can see the rolls and loaves being made behind the counter. Outdoor seating and umbrellas will also be provided throughout the sunny days of summer. There is still some minor work to be done before the cafe is complete and the Brausch 's are planning to have an official opening day in the coming weeks when all the renovations are finished. The new cafe is now offering ice-creams, a full range of coffee shops items, including freshly brewed, Robert Timms coffee, and a great selection of home made burgers from Johns' family 's secret recipe. John's mother owns a shop in Dannevirke known as the

Hi-way Dairy which is well known for it's burgers and now the Brausch' s are continuing that tradition in Waiouru. The Brausch' s wherever possible tried to use local labour and business for there expansion, hiring a Palmerston North builder and buying all their flooring from Bp.nnp.tt's nf Taihane Hxtended hours ot opening at the new cafe include 7am-3pm, Monday to Thursday, 7am-8pm Friday and 7am, to around 4pm on the weekend. The Hi-way Robbery Cafe is also providing toilet facilities to the public which are accessible to the disabled and a ramp access at the front door for the same purpose.
