Waiouru RSA
□ This club is now the first Returned Servicemans Association in New Zealand to qualify for Kiwi Host recogriition. The minimum requirement to achieve this recognition is to have 60% of staff employed to qualify for Kiwi Host but in the case of Waiouru RSA all three staff (100%) have qualified as Kiwi hosts and hostesses. □ A total of 46 contestants entered the club's recent Karaoke championships and they came from all over the central North Island. After two elimination rounds the five winners and their prize money were as follows: 1st Maria Mariu of
Taumarunui ($1000); 2nd Daryl O'Neill, Waiouru ($600); 3rd Stephanie Latoa, National Park ($200); 4th Marie O'Leary, Taihape ($125); 5th Warren Martin, Waiouru ($75). □ A club championships darts evening was held last weekend. The results were as follows: Men's singles: John Akurangi; Men's doubles: John and Opey; Ladies singles: Pat Akurangi; Women's doubles: Sue and Josie; Mixed double: Pat Akurangi and Garth Waslev
