Dining pleasure at Kings Court Lodge
While the rest of Ohakune is winding down at the end of the 1993 ski season, Kings Court Lodge at the Ohakune Junction is gearing up for a busy summer and has pledged to remain open for the duration. Recently completed and the pride of the lodge (and the only one to be found in an 80km radius) is the brand new Kings Court Beer Garden, with a spacious deck and seating that boasts superb mountain views. Under construction is a huge brick barbeque that will feature a roasting spit for the ultimate in outdoor dining. Host Keith Pittman advocates the lodge as the place for summer func-
tions. Guests have the option of dining in either the recently-refurbished restaurant, medieval room, cabaret, and now the beer garden. Kings Court Lodge' s immensely pcvpular Friday night discos with D.J. 'Dirty Dick' will remain a permanent fixture throughout the summer months, as will the sumptuous Saturday night dinner menu. The summer menu (including Sunday lunches) is due out this week, so watch out for it. Dining bookings are not essential, but can be made by phoning 3858 648. Just some of the activities featuring on the Kings Court Calendar through to the New Year:
November - 2nd, Melbourne Cup day; 1315th, Murder Mystery weekend; 18th, German beer festival; 23rd, blind date (and again on the 30th!).
