'Thinking game' pleases pupils

Keelan Pehi sends down a bowl at the Ruapehu Coilege clubs programme recently. He is one of eight senior pupils taking part in the sixweek programme run by local bowls enthusiast and teacher, Merrilyn Geot ge who said at first the pupils thought the game was going to be boring compared to their usual rugby or scrag. "Now they hope like mad it's not going to rain on bowls day." The bowlers said they enjoyed the game because it was easy to iearn, exciting and was a thinking game.
