Keep the park
• To the council - please don't scrap Jubilee Park playground. If you want to build a new playground at Christie Park, go ahead. But there' s nothing that can't be fixed wrong with Jubilee Park. It's very handy to the shops, it's on the main road so is good for people passing through town, it's shady (worth thinking about in these days of melanoma warnings), and there are kids and parents who like it and use it. There will no doubt be those who will dismiss calls to save the playground as nostalgia, and I agree that sentimentality shouldn't affect decisions of safety, but Jubilee Park playground can be made safe. There is one piece of equipment, the large swing, which should be removed, but the rest can be modified. A lot of hard work by volunteer labour went into building it. But the reason to keep it is because it' s an asset to the town. Ray Playstay
