League winners

Presentations for Junior Rugby League from this region were held at the weekend. Awards were gi ven in four categories with the winners being, Robert Speers, 13, of Raetihi who was awarded Player of the Year, Quentin Gordon, 12,

of Raetihi who received the Most Valuable Player award, Clive Fremlin, 6, of Waiouru for the Most Courageous Player and Gordon Cribb, 9, of Raetihi who took home the Most Improved Player award. This year a trial com-

petition from this zone only was held with teams from Ohakune, Raetihi and Waiouru competing in age group competitions each week. Next year however the junior teams will compete in the Manawatu regional competition.
