City copy service comes to town
ADVERTORIAL Another step~ forward for the district is a new Konica (UBix) full-colour photocopier installed at Berrys Bookshop. Peter Berry and Rose Martin are reasonably pleased with the response from the public but as with any new venture in the district it takes a while for people to realise the importance and the potential of a machine such as this and how beneficial it could be to their business. Peter sees the photo-copier as being a real asset to the district with the greatest potential being in adding colour to menus, hand-bills and fliers, CV's, promotional leaflets etc.
Also installed is a new high-speed Konica 3035 black and white photo-copier with document feeder and sorter bins and adapter. This multifunction machine can enlarge up to A3 size or decrease an original down to mi-cro-small. It can copy two sides onto two sides, two sides onto separate sheets, two sheets onto one and all in one operation. The clarity is excellent often better than the original. Also installed is a new A4 and A3 pocket laminator which has a variety of uses including one-off A4 and A3 laminates (plastic protective covering) for plastic covered labels, name tags, licence and ID cards, stiff counter-
display cards, plastic pockets, report covers, display books etc. This new machine, working along-side the large laminator, roller, cutter and two photocopiers means that the people of the Waimarino can enjoy •the facilities of a largetown copy shop at competitive prices, while-you-wait service without the hassle of going out of town. Although not installed yet but within the next week or two we will see the installation of a spiral binder for giving a document a professional look (rather than a staple). Berry's are also looking at a large A1 copier able to do those extra large print plans, patterns, wall planners etc.
Asked if there would be enough work in the area to justify the colossal expense in setting up a copy service as complex as this, Peter said times have changed over the past three years. Any specialised farmer or business person who doesn't promote their business in the most professional way is going to be left well behind. "Although the machines are complex and specialised Rose Martin, Maxine Ormond and myself have the training and confidence in the machinery to turn out very 'professional' results," said Peter. As a side issue many people have brought in photographs to be copied and enlarged. Some have family photos fitted onto 1994 calenders others have photo-copied many photos onto one sheet, laminated them and sent them overseas as Christmas presents. "Yes, it is a big step but with the support of the people in this district I am confident that it will succeed and will be an asset and service for all to enjoy." "lf we can provide the facility and the service at a competitive price - why go out of town? Each one survives in this area with the cooperation and support of the others." Introducing the UBix 9028 Not just an ordinary copier - the U-Bix 9028 is a true ;three-in-one copier'. A black & white copier with the full range of functions expected from a modern U-Bix
