What's the week?
National Housing Week is an annual event held by the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand to raise public awareness of housing issues. This year National Housing Week focuses on home ownership and takes as its theme: "It's Easier to Own A Home Of Your Own". During the week members of the Real Estate Institute will be telling the public about the benefits of owning a home.
Their message is that it has never been easier to own a home of one's own. Mortgage repayment rates are currently lower than they have been for many years and lending institutions have made it easier for the prospective home owner to make a purchase. The message is being carried to the public through newspaper supplements, radio spots and other means.
