Waimarino Golf

The annual Cascade Cup was played for in wet, cold conditions, with Taihape and Waiouru the two visiting teams. Waimarino came out the winner on 35.50 points, Taihape with 33.75 "and Waiouru with 30.75. Ladies: B. Hibbard first on 39 points; P. Mcllroy second on 34. Junior men: N. Black won on the toss from A. Thomas; both finished with 39 points; C. Allerby with 37 and J. Purcell with 36. Senior men: G. Allerby and G. Imhoff tied for first place with 38 points. G. Allerby won on the toss.

B. Drinkwater came third with 35. Two's were scored by L. Thurston and T. Kavana. The lucky draw will jackpot next week as the winner, E. Reston, was not present. Members are reminded of the 36 hole tournament to be held on 19 September. Sponsors for the day were Ruapehu Hotel and Kings Court.
