Last Tuesday saw the final round of games in the Ruapehu zone men's interclub squash competition for this year. In division 1 (D grade and below) Ohakune 1 and Taihape 1 both had 5-0 wins over Waimarino 1 and Taumarunui 1 respectively. In division 2 (E grade and below) Ohakune 2 beat Waimarino 2, 4-1 and Ohakune 3 beat Taihape 2, 3-2. The Ohakune 3 result was a particularly pleasing one for them as they had been beaten in the first round and the Taihape team were otherwise unbeaten in the competition. Final points are: Men's Division 1 r Taihape 1, 33; Ohakune 1, 23; Waimarino 1, 11; Taumarunui 111. Men's Division 2 - Taihape 2, 32; Ohakune 3, 24; Ohakune 2, 19; Waimarino 2, 2. Final games in the ladies division are being played tonight with Waimarino 1 playing Ohakune 2 and Ohakune 1 playing Waimarino 2. Points to date are: Ladies Division 1 - Waimarino

1, 33; Ohakune 1, 22; Waimarino 2, 10; Ohakune 2, 2. The restarting of the Ruapehu Zone interclub has been a great success with many players in the district getting their first taste of competitive team squash. Those involved have enjoyed it and it is expected there will be even more teams next year. The interclub games combined with official tournament games are the only games that count towards official gradings
