The 15 th annual Ohakune Art Awards has attracted 150 entries with more still to arrive, according to awards convenor Ellen Gould. Mrs Gould said around 85 artists had entered the competition, with more entries in the young artist

category - something the Ohakune Art Awards committee had been working hard to promote. Judging will be held on September 4, with an exhibition of works at the Ohakune Primary School hall from September 511- Turn to page 5

From page 1 Mrs Gould expressed disappointment that no Taumarunui entries were received, this being the first year that the district award category has been extended to encompass the Taumarunui district. Entries from artists as young as intermediate school age are included in this year's art award entries. Judith Trevelyn of the Wellington Academy of Fine Arts will be on hand next week to judge the entries.
