Leave trees

• I am incredulous Mayor Workman and the Waimarino Community Board et al, have the cffrontry to spend so much time debating what to do with a few supposedly, diseased trees when there must surely be more pressing matters to occupy their time. The alleged disease is presumably not life threatening, well, to other than the trees themselves, and they have aroused my

admiration and favourable comment for the past 15 years of my regularly visiting Ohakune, so leave them alone. From personal experience and casual observation I can tell you that replacements would require to be protccted by substantial palisades to have much chance of survival. Let those cherry trees remain "a thing of beauty and a joy forever', so to speak.
