Bank men swap towns
Waimarino 's Bank of New Zealand consumer business manager Paul Rountree leaves for Wellington soon and Michael White takes over his desk. Paul is headed for central Wellington to look after a smaller number of larger business clients. Paul said he would like to be staying longer, having enjoyed his two and a half years in the Waimarino. "It's an occupational hazard, having to move on," he said. "I've enjoyed my time here - the people have been brilliant. It's good to see people enjoying better times now." Michael White comes here from Wellington where he was a business analyst in the business banking section. He has been with the BNZ for 19 years, having come from Helensburgh, near Loch Lomond in Scotland.
He comes to the Waimarino keen on skiing, tramping and getting involved in local community projects.
He said this is his first rural posting, having spent his time in city business, loans and international banking.
