The Warratahs 'Big Sky in Concert Tour '93', is the name of the Warratah's latest (and reputedly best) national tour that commenced May 29 and continues through to the end of July. Having recently completed a highly successful tour of the South Island promoting their fourth album 'Big Sky', the rested and re-ener-gized group performed their first North Island show to a sell-out audience in their home town of Wellington. Special guest for this, their final concert tour for the year, is the 'Neon Cowboy' - writer and singer A1 Hunter - performing songs from his latest album, with the Knapp sisters on backing vocals. The Warratahs' new album 'Big Sky' features original work from the pen of group members Barry Saunders (vocals, guitar, harmonica), and Wayne Mason (vocals, piano, accordian, guitar). The tour, featuring songs from their latest album plus past favourites, also features songs from Barry Saunders' 'Dark Shadows' album released last year (voted country album of the year at the recent Recording Industry Awards). Previous albums from the Warratahs include the mega-selling 'Only Game in Town', containing such songs as 'Hands of My Heart' and 'Maureen'. The Mutton Birds New Zealand's "hottest band" - The
Mutton Birds - are appearing at the grand opening of Margarita's Tapas Bar and Restaurant, this Saturday 24 July. The group, consistirig of Don McGlashan, David Long, Ross Burge and Alan Gregg, have taken the New Zealand music scene by storm since they released their debut self-titled album last year.
