Flasher in Jubilee Park

• Ohakune Police are concerned about the actions of a "flasher" who has appeared ori two occasions in Ohakune recently. A fortnight ago, he approached a female visitor leaving the toilets in Jubilee Park, naked from the waist down. On Saturday 3 July, he approached a female pedestrian by the Ohakune Carrot site. He was naked from the waist down, with an

olive green balaclava covering his face. He made several lewd suggestions to the woman, then became agitated and followed her across the bridge towards Ohakune as the woman ran off. A few minutes later he approached two younger girls, again making lewd suggestions. He

was last seen running off into the bush behind the carrot. Police request the cooperation of the public in providing information as to the offender's activities, reporting anything suspicious to the police, and request that parents watch out for their children in the Jubilee Park bush area.

• A grey Nissan van was stolen from a Grey Street address during the early hours of Sunday morning. The owner of the vehicle heard the van being started and gave chase. The vehicle was found abandoned shortly after in a metal pit on the Parapara Highway. The offender ran off after placing a rock on the accelerator. Police enquiries are continuing.
