Waimarino people will soon have a chance to air their concerns about health services available in the area as well as ideas for improving them. Good Health Wanganui chief executive Ron Janes said last week the company which now provides health care in the area will be exploring options for enhancing health care in the region. He said they welcome approaches from communities with suggestions. The Waimarino Health Watch Committee is

hosting a public meeting to start the process, at Raetihi on Thursday 22 July. Good Health Wanganui would also be explaining some of its own ideas on improved services. Mr Janes said he was aware that people were concerned that services would be lost or changed, but that it was inevitable there would be changes. "However, changes will only be made after consultation with clients and the community." He said staff would be fully involved in the consultation process.
