New logo for Museum

A new logo has been adopted by the QE II Army Memorial Museum depicting a stylised museum in the foreground and Mt Ruapehu, surrounded by deep blue sky, in the background. The Museum is coloured red, a traditional colour of the Army. The new logo replaces the New Zealand Army Coat of Arms which had been used in the promo-

tion of the Museum. A Hamilton-based marketing firm, the Chesterman Group, was the designer of the logo and beat out several other firms from around the North Island in the bid to come up with a suitable logo. Spokeswoman for the Museum, Elizabeth Cottrell, said the logo was chosen on the strength of its simple, uncluttered design and its

use of Mt Ruapehu, thus associating the Museum

more closely with the Ruapehu district.
