Estelle Jenkins and Katherine Zohs took part in the Miss Rotorua Beauty Pageant held 2123 May. There were 12 contestants and Estelle was one of the five finalists. Last December Estelle was placed runner-up to Trudi T aura in the Miss
Raetihi competition. The winner of the Rotorua title was 22year old Tanya Rogers, with Tui Rolleston the runner-up. Practices were held on the Friday. A luncheon with the judges and sponsors on Saturday was followed bv 10
minute individual interviews with the judges. Sir Howard Morrison and his wife were two of the five judges. This part of the pageant was held at the Kingsgate Hotel. The evening parade was in the Towers
Nightclub. The girls modblled swim-wear from a Rotorua firm, day-wear from Carolyn Eve's Salon, and their own choice of eveningwear. Since the pageant, Estelle Jenkins has been contacted and encouraged to take a 12-week
introductory course by the Reflex Model Agency. Work has been found for her in Rotorua, and Estelle leaves the Waimarino this week. She has the best wishes of the community for success in the course and future assignments.
