Late teams upset netball organisers

CONTRIBUTED ITEM The weather turned out really good for Saturday 's Waimarino netball, but despite having good weather conditions for netball some teams and players are making Saturday morning netball frustrating for the organisers. It seems that too many people take things for granted. Players don't seem to realise by not turning up to play their games at the stated times or by just not turning up at all the problems they cause. Teams travel from Waiouru every Saturday only to arrive at the courts to find they have no game as it seems the opposition just couldn't be bothered turning up on time or even turning up at all. If teams can't make it for some reason, organisers have a draw steward they can contact. The executive Committee suggest these teams be more punctual arriving for their games. "If players want Saturday morning netball to continue they need to show a lot more commitment towards the sport", say organisers. "We realise some teams have commitment but those that don't ruin everything." The Executive are considering imposing a stiff penalty for late teams or teams not turning up.
