Paths

The Ruapehu District Council's Draft Annual Plan for 1993-94 recommended an increase of expenditure of $11,800 to be spent on footpaths in Raetihi, when it met in Ohakune yesterday. The poor condition of the asphalt footpaths in the Raetihi urban area was noted and Cr Stuart Shaw suggested the problem was often caused by the failure to reinstate the footpaths after (telephone and water) services had been put in under them. He asked who was responsible for supervising this work and ensuring the surface is properly restored to its original condition. Chief executive Cliff Houston said it was a matter the Council would take a close look at.
